US VS. OTHERS

We brainstormed why our current system was not working and also the differences between countries’ healthcare systems to see what the pros and cons of each system were. We saw that only a few would be able to be implemented into the US, the best of them being France’s healthcare system.

The French love their healthcare system, which is a hybrid system where there is a large public sector with a private sector that is easily accessible to all through their employers. This way, since the entire French population is under the public healthcare plan, the government is able to drive down the cost of medicine and treatment, a big issue in the United States.

The only problem we saw with the French healthcare system was that their taxes are nearly 20% higher than ours, a lot of that being from having such a large public healthcare sector. We came to the conclusion that we need to cut the taxes down as much as possible especially since many Americans would oppose paying significantly higher taxes.
